The Two Axes Solar Tracker, using a concrete footing foundation and having a maximum height of six meters, is characterized by its robustness and feasibility. The first commercial installation of this sort was built in 2005. Its system, having a north-south rotation axis and including a secondary rotation axis with a range of motion from 0º to 45º degrees, moves the solar panels from east to west following a tracking system based on astronomic programming. It also has a “backtracking” feature and an automated programmable defence position. Depending on the location, the increased production this tracker can reach is 50%.
